An apartment developer website that helps buyers choose

Why does someone searching for “2 bedrooms under $700,000” leave a developer’s website empty-handed?

I have looked at cities from the top floors of apartment towers in every country in the world, and I now live in Perth, where apartments are a big part of how the city is growing. Buyers think in bedrooms, budget and suburb, yet developer websites show them brochures. Here is how I would change that, step by step.

Step by step

01

Projects instead of apartments

A search by bedrooms, budget, suburb and stage across all developments.

02

Stages are unclear

New to market, under construction, ready to move in, future. Clear labels set expectations.

03

Fact sheets hidden

One tap to a fact sheet or floor plan for every project.

04

No way to compare

Buyers shortlist two or three options. A compare tool keeps them on your site.

05

Register interest is buried

For future releases, a single sign-up for early access builds a list of warm buyers.

Concept proposed to the company

Example: a concept proposed to Finbar, Perth

Finbar is a Perth apartment developer listed on the ASX. I designed this concept and proposed it to the company. It is my vision, not Finbar’s official website, and the prices in it are placeholders.

  • Developments filtered by stage
  • Apartment search by bedrooms, budget and suburb
  • Fact sheets and floor plans in one tap
  • Compare developments side by side
  • Register interest for upcoming releases

The bottom line

A developer website should work like a good sales agent: ask what you need and show you the right apartments. Search, clear stages, fact sheets and a compare tool turn browsing into enquiries.

I now call Perth home, and I see the city grow upwards. I wanted buyers to find their apartment as easily as I found mine.

I audit and design websites through the eyes of someone who has seen how businesses welcome customers in every country on earth.
