Mining and engineering websites: why buyers can’t find the part

Why does a maintenance planner who knows the exact machine still struggle to find your part online?

Living in Perth, I quickly learnt how much of Western Australia runs on mining. Engineering companies here do world-class work, yet their websites often make buyers dig through menus. When I audited Bend-tech Group, I saw this clearly. Here is the fix, step by step.

Step by step

01

Huge menus instead of search

A finder by make and model gets the buyer to the right part in seconds.

02

Capability hidden

Years in business, ISO certification and workshop size should be on the first screen. They are why a buyer trusts you with a critical part.

03

Several brands, no map

Groups with several brands confuse buyers. One clear diagram of who does what solves it.

04

No quote request

A short form with the machine and part number turns a visit into an enquiry.

05

Heavy pages

Site offices often have slow connections. Light pages load fast anywhere.

Concept · our vision

Example: a concept for Bend-tech Group, Perth

Bend-tech Group supplies access platforms, maintenance tooling and ROX replacement parts for 80+ mining machines. I audited its public website and built a concept. This is my vision, not the company’s official website.

  • Make-and-model finder for 80+ machines
  • 30+ years, ISO and a 10,000 m² facility on the first screen
  • Four group brands in one clear map
  • Quote request form
  • About 30 times lighter first load

The bottom line

Engineering buyers are busy and precise. Let them search by make and model, show your capability up front and make a quote request take a minute. That is how a website starts winning orders for a workshop.

Living in Western Australia, I see every day how much the state runs on mining and the people who keep the machines going.

I audit and design websites through the eyes of someone who has seen how businesses welcome customers in every country on earth.
