Massage & wellness websites

A massage clinic website with many locations: what customers need

Why do shoppers walk past your massage centre and into the one next door?

Having travelled to every country in the world, I have had my share of tired backs and quick massages between flights, and I chose almost every one of them on my phone in under a minute. When a wellness brand grows to many locations, the website is often the weakest link. Here is what I fixed for Max Therapy, step by step.

Step by step

01

Locations are hard to find

Every centre needs its own address, hours and phone number, ideally with a map and a “nearest to me” option.

02

No prices

Thirty, forty-five and sixty-minute prices in a clear table. People decide on the spot.

03

Health fund rebates not explained

Many customers only book because they can claim. Say clearly which treatments are claimable.

04

Booking only by phone

Online booking lets people book a lunch-break massage in a minute.

05

Generic stock photos

Real rooms and real therapists build more trust than another stock photo of stones and candles.

Our project

Example: Max Therapy, Melbourne and Geelong

Max Therapy runs 14 massage and Chinese medicine centres in Melbourne and Geelong shopping centres. I built a new English-language site.

  • Online booking
  • Prices for every treatment
  • All 14 locations with addresses
  • Health fund rebates explained
  • Fresh green design
  • Built for phones first

The bottom line

A multi-location brand wins when every centre is easy to find, prices are clear and booking takes a minute. Get that right and the website feeds all fourteen centres, not just the busiest one.

Between flights in every corner of the world I booked massages on my phone in a minute. That is the standard I design for.

I audit and design websites through the eyes of someone who has seen how businesses welcome customers in every country on earth.
